Cantor Air has announced its upcoming collaboration with charter airline SmartLynx, which current and prospective students can take advantage of.

Students who have completed training with Cantor Air will now be able to go on to undertake advanced pilot training at the SmartLynx Training Centre. The centre offers an A320 type rating programme, training students to fly all the aircraft in A320 family.

However, the type rating is probably self-sponsored. The company hasn’t outlined any conditions in the statement.

The first students are set to take their places in October and November 2019.

Founded in 1992 in Riga, Latvia, SmartLynx specialises in ACMI aircraft lease services and charter flights, thanks to its substantial fleet of Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft.

As an aircraft lease solution provider, SmartLynx enables flights to Europe, Africa and Asia.

Meanwhile, its fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft provide charter services in Latvia and Estonia, while its training centre is approved for pilot training.

Last year alone it carried over three million passengers on its aircraft.

Over 90 per cent of students graduating from the SmartLynx Training Centre are offered jobs by the airline, launching their careers as an airline pilot.
Cantor Air, based at Valbembro Airport in Bergamo, Italy, has been providing flight training since 2007. The company offers a number of training courses, including Multi-Crew Co-operation Training (MCC).
