Who is cadet pilot?

A cadet pilot is basically a pilot in training – usually on a training course designed for a specific airline, known as the cadet programme, pilot cadetship scheme or simply cadet scheme. You can find these cadet programmes offered by all major flight schools or directly on an airline’s website. Airlines usually collaborate with flight schools on training or have training departments of their own.

With the upcoming pilot shortage across all markets, there are more and more airlines willing to partially donate towards the training of their pilots. These pilot sponsorship schemes give more people the opportunity to fulfil their dream of becoming an airline pilot.
